Jesus Take the Wheel: 11-Year-Old Boy is Shot and Dies While at his Football Coach’s House

Friday, 27 November 2009 17:42

Mitchell “D.J.” Maxwell was at a sleepover, with two other teammates, at his football coach’s house. Even though it was an accident, the three little boys thought they were playing with an unloaded pellet gun. One of the boys pretended to shoot the gun and the other little boy actually pulled the trigger.

SMH… Details Under the Hood

WAYCROSS, Ga. — A 12-year-old middle school football player shot and killed a teammate with a pellet gun during a sleepover at their coach’s house.

Mitchell “D.J.” Maxwell, 11, was shot with a .177-caliber pellet gun at the Albany Avenue home of his football coach. He was transported to Satilla Regional Medical Center, where he died.

Felicia Thomas said her sixth-grade son was at a sleepover with two other boys at the coach’s home when he was shot.

Ware County Sheriff Randy Royal said the three boys were playing a PlayStation 3 video game when one of the boys picked up what he thought was an unloaded pellet rifle and pretended to shoot it, then handed it to a 12-year-old who apparently shot Maxwell in the chest from point-blank range.

After trying to stop the bleeding themselves, the children notified two adults watching television in the next room that Maxwell was hurt, but did not immediately say he had been shot.

Stacey Chavez, 35, called 911 while Thomas “Zach” Williams, 22, performed CPR until Ware County emergency medical services personnel arrived.

According to the police report, the paramedics didn’t know the boy had been shot until they got to the hospital. They thought he was having an asthma attack.

In the 911 calls, the caller told the operator the boy was gasping for air and that he had a history of asthma.

“He’s unresponsive but he’s breathing,” one of the callers told 911.

“Do you know if he has a history of asthma or anything?” the 911 operator asked.

“He’s one of my football players, and his cousin’s here now and says he does have asthma,” the caller said.

An autopsy was scheduled to be performed on Monday at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Savannah office.

Royal said the case remains under investigation and the results would be turned over to the district attorney’s office for review and any further action.

Maxwell’s mother said she could not believe her son was gone.

“I just thought the world of him. I was so proud of him,” said Thomas. “I just looked forward to him growing up and becoming a man and really showing me what he’s made of. I worked really hard on him.”

Mitchell Maxwell, Sr., D.J.’s father, said he’s dealing with pain and frustration, still trying to come to grips with what happened to his son.

“I don’t think he meant to kill him, but still you don’t play like that,” Maxwell, Sr. said. “My child is gone. … You shouldn’t put a gun, whether it’s a pellet gun, a real gun, whatever, to anybody and pull the trigger.”

NBA Wives Hate Khloe Kardashian

Friday, 27 November 2009 17:42

Khloe Kardashian has only been married to Lamar Odom for two months and is already starting trouble.  An insider tells us that Khloe is an outcast among the other Lakers wives and they can’t stand her. Pop the top for the details.

An inside source says that Khloe’s loud, rude and obnoxious behavior has burned a lot of bridges with the wives of the team. Apparently, Khloe also feels entitled to perks that the other women don’t get, including court side seats not only for herself but also for her entire family, according to the insider.

Khloe thinks she’s helping the team by attracting publicity so she should be entitled to extra perks. She most recently got into a verbal scuffle with Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa, when she and her daughters were escorted from the game by bodyguards. Khloe said, “Why don’t I have bodyguards? I’m more famous than her!”

Looks like Khloe needs a reality check fast.

Duchess Of “Cornhole” Condemns Beyonce’s Nastiness

Friday, 27 November 2009 17:42

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who also happens to be the wife of Prince Charles, has denounced Bey Bey’s “Videophone” video. She said it’s trying to trigger something negative in young people today:

The Duchess of Cornwall spoke for the first time yesterday, about the way youngsters are sexualised by explicit rap videos. Camilla was taking part in a discussion with victims of sexual violence during a visit to a rape crisis center when the topic turned to how music videos affect teenagers today. She told an audience of women that children thought they could get away with things because teachers failed to punish them.

Referring to the images children are exposed to, the Duchess said: ‘A lot of those videos are terrifying. ‘I am sure they trigger a response in some of the young people. I can never understand how they can get away with making those things.’ The Duchess has avoided speaking in public on social issues until now. Her stance has been in marked contrast to Charles’ first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales, who was renowned for the way in which she tackled controversial issues.

Yesterday, the Duchess made her concerns clear that youngsters are already becoming immune to such images of sex and violence. She said schools need to become involved in teaching both male and female schoolchildren ‘the value of respect for each other.’ During the discussions, the subject turned to a controversial video by pop singer Beyonce, who is particularly popular with young girls.

In the promotion for the single Video Phone, which also features the outlandish singer Lady Gaga, Beyonce provocatively dances in a series of increasingly skimpy outfits and holds a toy gun to the head of a bare-chested man who is hooded.

‘It has happened too quickly, values have changed so much,’ the Duchess said. ‘I suppose it’s peer pressure, that’s the problem. You don’t want to look like the odd one out.”

But it takes a strong person to show that they don’t approve, especially at that age. It’s a breakdown of discipline. There doesn’t seem to be any punishment for such behavior. The teachers are too kind.’

She does make a valid point. Discuss…
